For patients who live outside Turkey, we generally recommend orthodontic treatment with clear aligners. Traditional fixed braces usually require frequent adjustment appointments, so they are not our preferred option when travel is limited.
How clear aligner treatment is usually organized
Visit 1: Consultation, records, and scans
After the first examination and informed discussion, if you decide to start treatment we take photos, radiographs, and intraoral scans or impressions. You can then return home while the aligners are manufactured. The next visit is scheduled when the aligners are ready.
Visit 2: Starting active treatment
At the first “active” appointment, attachments (small tooth-colored bumps) are often bonded to specific teeth to help the aligners grip and move teeth efficiently.
We also review how to insert and remove aligners, oral hygiene, wear time, and other compliance rules, and we show you how your tooth positions are expected to change using the digital treatment plan.
Visit 3: Finishing and retention
If you have worn your aligners as prescribed, by this visit the teeth should be close to their final positions. Attachments are removed and we discuss retention (for example removable retainers or a bonded lingual wire) to limit relapse.
In many cases, three trips to Turkey are needed for records, start, and finish—plus occasional follow-up visits over the years. Exact timing depends on your clinical plan; your orthodontist will outline the schedule for your case.
