How does clear aligner treatment work?

The sequence below summarizes the main stages of a typical clear aligner journey. Timing and steps vary by case; your personal plan is finalized after clinical assessment.

  1. 1

    First visit: examination and fees

We review findings, goals, and options, and outline what to expect—including an individualized fee discussion.

  2. 2

    Records appointment

Intraoral impressions or scans are taken; radiographs are completed if needed.

  3. 3

    Digital treatment planning

Tooth movements and the aligner sequence are planned on the computer.

  4. 4

    Clinical approval

The digital plan and treatment objectives are reviewed and approved by the clinician. Aligner manufacturing begins after this approval.

  5. 5

    Aligner fabrication abroad

Aligners are produced in the laboratory according to the approved plan.

  6. 6

Shipment to Türkiye and delivery to the clinic

Aligners are shipped to Türkiye and received at the clinic before your fitting visit.

  7. 7

    Scheduling your next visit

Our team contacts you to book a convenient appointment.

  8. 8

    Treatment start visit

Attachments are bonded; you are instructed on how to insert, remove, and wear your aligners each day.

  9. 9

    Progress check-ups

We monitor progress on a schedule tailored to your plan; interproximal reduction (IPR) is performed when indicated.

  10. 10

    Retention and attachment removal

Fixed lingual retainers are placed and attachments are removed—marking the end of active aligner therapy.

  11. 11

Night guard / night aligner records

Records are taken for the night appliances you will use after active treatment.

  12. 12

    Retention phase

Upper and lower fixed lingual retainers are intended to remain long-term.

The first retention check is often around 6 months, with yearly visits thereafter.

For the first 6 months, night aligners are typically worn every night, all night.

  13. 13

    Six-month retention check

A comprehensive check is done about six months after finishing active treatment.

After this visit, many patients transition to wearing night aligners about once per week, with yearly follow-ups.

Please bring your night aligners to every retention appointment.
